Top 10 Symptoms of Prediabetes and Diabetes

    By edwinseow | May 3, 2008

There are several tell tale symptoms of prediabetes and diabetes.  A diabetic or prediabetic may or may not have all of these listed below but if you do experience any of them, you may want to visit the doctor to perform a fasting plasma glucose test (FPG) or HbA1c test to determine if you have diabetes.  The top 10 symptoms are:

    1. sudden weight loss
    2. tiredness and fatigue
    3. extreme thirst
    4. frequent urge of urination
    5. extreme hunger
    6. blurred vision
    7. constipation
    8. itchiness of skin usually around genital area
    9. numbness or tingling sensation in hand or feet
    10. slow healing of wounds and sores

As for me, i experienced a sudden weight loss, extreme hunger though i eat alot, high levels of tiredness, frequent feeling of thirst and always want to urinate.  I attributed it to the birth of my second child but in the end, it was prediabetes.  More about that in later posts.
