By pohheng | May 3, 2008
There are several tell tale symptoms of prediabetes and diabetes. A diabetic or prediabetic may or may not have all of these listed below but if you do experience any of them, you may want to visit the doctor to perform a fasting plasma glucose test (FPG) or HbA1c test to determine if you have diabetes. The top 10 symptoms are:
- sudden weight loss
- tiredness and fatigue
- extreme thirst
- frequent urge of urination
- extreme hunger
- blurred vision
- constipation
- itchiness of skin usually around genital area
- numbness or tingling sensation in hand or feet
- slow healing of wounds and sores
As for me, i experienced a sudden weight loss, extreme hunger though i eat alot, high levels of tiredness, frequent feeling of thirst and always want to urinate. I attributed it to the birth of my second child but in the end, it was prediabetes. More about that in later posts.
