Most people only knows that if a person suffers from diabetes or prediabetes, it means that a person is suffering from high blood glucose BG / sugar level or Hyperglycaemia (Hyperglycemia). This is only one side of the coin, diabetics and prediabetes actually can suffer from another condition known as Hypoglycemia (Hypoglycaemia).
What is Hypoglycemia?
Hypoglycemia is the condition when a person’s (diabetic or not) blood sugar (glucose) level falls too low, a strict guide will be below 2.5mmol/litre though it is commonly said that <4mmol/litre already qualify you as Hypoglycemia
When and why does Hypoglycemia happens?
This reaction is frequently seen in diabetics who have taken more insulin than they need. Sometimes it could be caused by some diabetic drugs which cause the BG to go too low. This condition can be aggravated when the person actually ate too little or exercised too excessively relative to their last dose of insulin and glucose lowering drugs/medication.
So what are the symptoms of Hypoglycemia and what should you do if you are experiencing Hypoglycemia?
